Similar to Beachwood’s award-winning Beachwood Hoppa Emeritus, out of Huntingdon Beach CA. That beer has been dubbed “the most evil Black IPA to stalk the earth. Dry hopped with sinister amounts of Citra and Equinox [sic] hops.” This recipe is intended as a showcase for Weyermann’s Sinamar product, a malt extract of intense colour made from their Carafa Special malt. With 8oz of hops between the whirlpool and dry hop, this is a super-fruity aromatic quaff for sure!
Note: Unless you have Sinamar on hand, you'll need to add some to your kit in the options. Although this version of the recipe only calls for 1oz, we're limited to selling Sinamar in 4oz & 8oz formats. It's useful for colour adjustment/correction in other dark styles (such as Schwarzbiers, Dunkels, Stouts, Porters, and dark IPAs) to a desired shade without missing the mark, imparting deep color with minimal extra bitterness or astringency compared to using heavy additions of dark roasted grains.
